I tend to like puzzles in general, and sudoku is a brilliantly elegant little puzzle. The rules are simple but the difficulty is scalable, so it’s accessible to nearly everyone. I like the way your progress, and your feeling of progress, builds on itself.

Canadian football’s beautiful single point score is oft-maligned, but I love it. It’s one of the oldest surviving elements of the game, and almost certainly the oldest distinctively Canadian element. It encourages exciting kick returns, and helps keep the sport tied to its roots as more of a kicking game.
